Prof Hu is the recipient of 2001 Morant Lambla award for his broad and significant contributions to the science and practice of reactive extrusion
Prof. Hu has been working as full Professor at the Institut National Polytechique de Lorraine since 1998 with appointment at the Laboratory of Chemical Engineering Sciences of the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research) in Nancy.
After receiving his B.Sc. degree from the East-China University of Science and Technology of Shanghai, China in 1985, Prof. HU obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Ecole d'Application des Hauts Polymères (EAHP) - Institut Charles Sadron, Louis Pasteur University of Strasbourg, France in 1987 and 1990, respectively. After two years' stay at the University of Pittsburgh from 1990 to 1992, USA, he joined the Institut Charles Sadron of Strasbourg as a researcher of the CNRS. He received a bronze medal of the CNRS in 1996 and his habilitation degree from Louis Pasteur University of Strasbourg the same year.
Prof. HU's main research interests are in reactive extrusion of polymers, reactive polymer blending, devolatilization, nanomaterials, supercritical-fluid assisted polymer processing and polymer reaction engineering. He is the (co-)author of more than 75 journal articles, (co-)author of 8 book chapters and more than 50 conference proceedings, co-editor of one book and (co-) inventor of 12 European and international patents. He has presented more than 20 plenary and invited lectures at major conferences and has given more than 40 seminars to industrial and academic organizations.
