 Morand Lambla Award

The Polymer Processing Society invites nominations for the Morand Lambla Award to honor an outstanding young researcher in the field of polymer processing. The late Professor Morand Lambla, Past President of the Society, was a pioneering figure in our field.  He helped to develop and nurture many young researchers who have gone on to make major contributions to the field. This award aims to recognize and stimulate originality, high achievement and potential for continuing creativity among young researchers in the science and technology of all polymer processing related areas. Candidates can be employed in academia, government or industry and need not be PPS members. To be eligible nominees need to be 45 or younger by December 31st of the current year. The award consists of a plaque and $3000 check.

Nominations are invited from members of the PPS and the polymer processing community at large. The nomination form (click here to download) should be completed in English.  The application package must also include: a two page summary of the candidate's key contributions, a curriculum vitae, and copies of the most significant publications, patents or reports (up to 5).  The package should include supporting letters from the nominator and two co-nominators, preferably from different geographical regions. The letters should emphasize the candidate achievements and potential for future development. Active participation in PPS or contributions to the profession at large should be emphasized. If patents or reports are used in the nomination process their use and significance should be explained.  The deadline for submission of complete nomination packages is December 31st midnight GMT of the current year.

Nominations will be judged by the Morand Lambla Awards Committee comprised of world renowned experts and the winner will be endorsed by the PPS Executive Committee.  The winner will be announced by March 31st of the following year and will be honored at the Award Ceremony during the upcoming PPS International Conference. The winner will also present a Plenary Lecture at the same PPS International Conference.

Complete nomination packages should be sent electronically by the first nominator to:
